Kessaku Kennels

I bought my first Shiba in 1989, Freroses Miata, she was my first small dog after raising Akitas and handling Am Staffs and Mastiffs among other breeds.

I work as a Laboratory Director for an Environmental Lab, and have a craft business making soaps, candles and weaving.

I have owned 2 ROM Stud dogs CH: Independence of TaichugROM CGC and CH: Genta Go Gold Typhoon ROM (sire of 23 Champions) "Cutter" who is currently my house dog at age 15. Cutter was also first AOM at the 2000 Specialty on the Pier. Many of my dogs obtained Nippo USA points as well as their AKC Championships.

My newest stud dog is Am/Ca/FCI Ch: Southamptons Go Speedracer GO, or Indy as we know him, co owned with the Marcys of Huskavarna Siberians. Indy was #3 dog in Canada in 2006 shown by good friend Sue Beattie of Akanami Shibas.

  • Member of NSCA where I served on the Board of Directors.
  • Member of the Colonial Shiba Club a past President and current Board member.
  • Former President of the Blue and Gray Shiba Club.
  • Helped to organize Shiba Inu Rescue Resources of America and served on the Board and as President.
  • AKC CGC Evaluator

I still do some breedings from time to time, but I enjoy helping with seminar presentations for NSCA, and hope to apply for my judging license in the next year or so. I also teach handling classes for the local OHA chapter. I love helping Novices appreciate our little treasures.
